General Overview

Henry Heyink Construction Ltd. understands that working safely in today’s construction environment is of paramount importance.  Therefore, we are pro-active in developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and measures to enhance our already robust safety program.    Our dedicated Safety Coordinator and Operations Manager meets frequently with workers to provide training for new policy, and review key components of our existing safety program that are relevant to the project tasks currently at hand.

It is the policy of Henry Heyink Construction Ltd. to perform work in a safe and healthy manner, and to follow all the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects.  We believe that a safe working environment is beneficial to our workers and clients, and emphasize that all measures and precautions should be taken to provide the safest and healthiest work environment possible.  Our goal is to minimize or eliminate potential hazards which may otherwise be more likely to cause accidents and injuries.

Management firmly believe that placing greater emphasis on safety is absolutely essential in order to remain successful in today’s construction environment, and demonstrate this message to workers through their words, actions and decision making each day.

Specific Policy

The management of Henry Heyink Construction Ltd. is committed to the health and safety of its employees and the general public.  Protection of employees from injury or occupational disease is an ongoing objective.  Henry Heyink Construction Ltd. will strive to provide a safe and healthy work environment.  Reducing and eliminating risk of injury is equally shared by management, supervisors and workers.

Management and supervisors will ensure that machinery and equipment are in good working order, and work proceeds in compliance with established safe working practices and procedures.  Workers will be provided adequate training in their specific work tasks to protect their health and safety.

Every worker must protect his or her own health and safety by working in compliance with the law and with safe work practices and procedures established by the company.

Commitment to health and safety forms an integral part of this entire organization, and all activities must be undertaken in a safe manner.
